At Insight, we like to ensure that our equipment is always up to date to deliver the best possible eye care for our patients, and also to keep our practice current and ahead of the pack.
The latest addition to our practice is the Medmont Topographer. What is that you may ask?
The Medmont Topographer offers extreme accuracy in mapping a patient’s cornea. This is important as it allows us to analyse each point on the front surface of your eye for any potential corneal diseases, or to develop customised contact lenses to fit the eye. Similar to the way a contoured geographical map allows us to understand the terrain around us, a topographical corneal map allows us to understand how the front of your eye is shaped.
Our optometrists are highly trained in the use and analysis of the Medmont Topographer which enables them to fit:
- Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP) Contact Lenses
- RGP and Scleral lenses for Keratoconus
- Orthokeratology (ortho-k) lenses for the long term management of myopia (short-sightedness)
- Scleral Lenses for Dry eye
For a limited time, we are offering Corneal Topography scans free of charge to all patients. If you are interested in having it done, please contact our friendly staff to book an appointment.
