February 2012 – Stamford Road Closure & Insight Parking
We wish to assure all of our valued Insight Optometrists/Eyecare Plus clients that it will be ‘business as usual’ at our practice during the upcoming expansion of the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. As our building is privately owned, it is not part of the development and we will remain in usual operation throughout the building process, with the only changes being to the parking arrangements when you visit us.
Parking:
- While access to the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre parking opposite our shop (Stamford Road) will be closed, the portion of Stamford right outside our door will become a cul de sac, accessible to both streams of traffic from Station Road.
- As such, you can enjoy quick, easy and convenient access to free short-term parking and drop-off/pick-up zones right outside our shop for at least the first 12 months of development!
- Please note that we will still be accessible from the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre parking outside or above the cinemas, accessed from Musgrave Road – simply exit the Food Court and take a short stroll down Station Road to visit us.
Looking ahead:
The exciting $450 million redevelopment of Indooroopilly Shopping Centre commenced in February and will see the addition of approximately 30,000 square meters of new retail space, 900 additional parking bays and a general facelift for the whole centre. As you can see from the artist’s impression of the final product, at the end of the 27-month development period Insight Optometrists will enjoy a prime position, with Stamford Road metamorphosing into a bright and breezy retail plaza and pedestrian mall, flanked by a new David Jones offering five levels of parking both above and below the store.
